A lack of iron in the body means you aren’t getting enough oxygenated blood supply. This leads to anemia, extreme fatigue, and a compromised immune system. In young children, an iron deficiency can even slow the development of the brain.
Iron overload, on the other hand, can be just as dangerous. It can impact your cholesterol levels, stress your brain and pancreas, and even increase your risk of developing cancer.
